There are many myths around the cost of lead paint removal, but we can help you learn about the funding available and how you can access it. Although economic conditions are hard, it is a good time to delead your home. Massachusetts just added $4 million dollars of funding to help property owners with deleading.

Get the Lead Out: Get the Lead Out is a Low-Interest Loan Program through MassHousing to aid in the financing of lead removal. Loans are provided at 0%,3% and 5% interest rates, determined by income. 100% of the fund provided by Get the Lead Out must be used for lead paint abatement.

Lead Safe Boston: Lead Safe Boston is a program through Boston's Department of Neighborhood Development that provides financial and technical assistance in lead paint removal to qualified property owners. Income eligibility is based either on your household income or the income of tenants living in your property. Income eligibility requirements can be found here.

Boston Home Works: The Boston HomeWorks HELP (Home Equity Loan Program) provides interest-free loans to property owners to conduct repairs on owner-occupied properties. For a 1-person household, the income limit is $75,750 and for a 2 or more person home, the income limit is $95,000. Loans from this program can be used for a variety of home repairs, including lead abatement activities like window replacement.
