Lead Inspection Database

Accessing the Database

Through the State of Massachusetts' Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (CLPPP), a database of all lead inspections in Massachusetts has been made available on the web. Using the database, you can determine if your home has previously been inspected or deleaded.

To determine the lead history lead inspection of a property, visit the CLPPP database: Lead Safe Homes

Instructions on Finding Your Home's Lead History

  • Once at the site, choose your city or town from the drop-down menu, and if applicable, the neighborhood.
  • Type the street name and number in the spaces below and click "search".

-If the next page does not return any results, the house has not been inspected.

-If results are found, click on "View Detail". The next page will give details on the inspection.

-An outcome of "Violations found" indicates there are lead hazards in the home.

-An outcome of "Letter of Compliance" of "Letter of Full Deleading" indicates that at the date of issue, the home was lead safe. Please note that if there has been any renovation work or newly chipping paint since the letter of compliance was issued, there could be new lead hazards in the home.

Depending on your situation, owning or renting and the presence of a child under 6 years of age, different actions should be taken as a result of the information obtained from the database.

  • If you own the property and a Letter of Compliance was issued before you owned the property, call the Inspector listed to obtain a copy.
